C4093 Schmidt workshop, Marktneukirchen, Circa.1900
This violin shows the typical individual and fine making of the Schmidt workshop. The purfling is pushed far to the edge, the corners are particulary small and thin. Scroll chamfers and rib joints are blackened, the very rounded f-nicks are typical of German instruments of that period. This violin has a bright, rather powerful, responsive sound.
